Most of my family has roots in the Basque country so am very fond of this video...
*So a little Background "Basque Country" umm where to beging? ------ The Basques (Basque: Euskaldunak) are an indigenous people who inhabit parts of both Spain and France.
The name Basque derives from Medieval French and ultimately from the ancient tribe of the Vascones[1], described by Strabo as living south of the western Pyrenees and north of the Ebro River, in modern day Navarre and northern Aragon. This tribal name, of unknown etymology, was extended in late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages to cover all Basque-speaking people on either side of the Pyrenees.
And that's a wrap on History... ---------------
This is another jewel in the cyber jungle, This is a great addition to the go world. Not many Go videos out, so one more is always good to see.

Last week, we had a short Class me and Little M. We played for about an hour a series of Games. She learned how to keep stones connected and how to make simple eye shapes. Then I did a Simul with her and Zu.
During the past week, I have learned My 1st two Josekis. What is Joseki? I think I should Have started my entry with this...
Joseki:A joseki (定石), literally meaning "set stones", as in "set pattern" (jo means "fixed" or "set", and seki means stones), is a sequences of moves in game of Go which results in a fair outcome for both black and white sides
Alright Back to the story... So I have come to realize the importance of at least to know some Josekis. There are mix opinions on this, to learn them or not; because like everything there is always playing outside of them or doing a variation your opponent doesn't know; but I can hear Keith's voice in my head saying "You have to feel the flow of the stones" or Max saying "Janice says...."
So am attaching the SGFs of these 2 Josekis my friends have thought us.
Am going to try and use them in my games when I see the opportunity and if they fit in the situation. Maybe I will post a new Joseki each week if possible...
Alright hope All of you faithfull readers had a great week.
In the city of Houston, Texas; there was Max (one of the founders) working at a local gym doing the night shift. Meanwhile Keith (2nd founder)was there at 6:30 to do his regular workout. One morning Keith wore his Houston Go Club shirt and as he walked past the desk, Max said, “You, wait, I need to talk with you.” Then Keith thought there was something wrong with his account and also deep in his mind he thought “Man! What does this guy want… What’s the problem now…” When he went back, Max started asking him about Go.
They talked for a while and decided to play a game. They started meeting at a Krispy Kreme near the Galleria. They would play right after Max got off work, and right before Keith went to work, so, the games were only about 20 minutes per side. Then they started on the weekends in 2004 and created the AGA chapter Ziggy’s… the rest is history.
Later in 2006 Oliver (the blog guy) and Zu came along in and our little group began to grow. The blog was created and my adventures at Ziggy's and in the world of Go began to emerge from the cyber impulses of my keyboard.
Once in a while Little M and her mom will come and join us... She is the new on and off member of Ziggy's a girl of 7 years of age that is picking up the game really Fast.. Hope she keeps her Go motivation High and becomes a regular.
Hope one in a while somebody finds the information in this Blog usefull for their own Go journey and Go enjoyment!.
If you are like me and you are always digging up something, discovering etc... You prob stumbled into Chinese WEI QI books or in English Chinese GO BOOKS. To help myself and others here is a good tool to help us all.
Please Enjoy!, am surely using this... Trying to make it into a little dictionary I can use while studying.
AND YES! is text SEARCHABLE!
A few tips from the Singapore Weiqi Association
improve your weiqi, the most important thing to do is to PLAY MORE!
1) When you play a game, concentrate and focus on your game 2) Recall and record a game after you play (whether you have won or lost) and find out where are you mistakes 3) Try to go through the game you have played with your opponent and spot each other mistakes
My little Contribution to the Go World to Kids... (Please be patient it takes a while to load...) The credit is not mine it belongs
The objective is to create similiar programs for Kids here in the USA. As far as my knowledge goes, there is no such a thing for Kids in America that have stumbled into Go. Take my friend's daughter Little M the one from a few post back. She is getting into GO but there is no place she can go, of course local games and whatnot but nothing KID oriented... or Beg oriented... Without a fresh brew of Go players in america we will never strive...
